The symptoms of Anorexia

Anorexia is a serious and complex psychiatric disorder also referred to as mental illness.



It symptoms include a severe disturbance in eating behavior. Then may abuse the laxatives, diuretics or diet pill. They will do exercise excessively.



Young women will stop menstruating and may develop thicker hair on their arms and legs, as an evolutionary throwback to stay warm.



They refused to maintain a healthy body weight and intense fear of gaining weight. They have intense fear of becoming fat and purposely lose weight to the point of starvation.



Other physical symptoms include but not limited to:

• Dizziness or fainting

• Brittle nails

• Loss of hair

• Paleness and dry skin

• Intolerance of cold

• Irregular heart rhythms

• Low blood pressure

• Dehydration

• Loss of breast tissue

• Dental problem



A distorted body image leads anorectic women to perceive themselves as grossly obese despite protruding ribs, sunken cheeks, and the evidence on the scale.



Patients with anorexia have high incidences of mood, anxiety, personality and substance used disorders. Depression is present in approximately 65% of patients with anorexia, although whether it is risk factor for or results so eating disorder is still unclear.
